WhatsApp has been constantly working to improve its platform and make it easier for users to connect and communicate with each other. The character limit for group subjects has been increased from 25 to 100 characters, giving group administrators more freedom in naming their groups and communicating the purpose of the group more effectively.
In addition to this, the group description character limit has also been increased from 512 characters to 2048 characters, giving users more room to describe the group and its purpose. The update is being rolled out via the Google Play Store Beta Program for Android beta testers and carries the version 2.233.9.
While users may not be able to immediately enter a longer description for their groups, it is suggested that they wait for some time before trying again. The update is expected to be rolled out gradually in a phased manner and will reach more users in the coming days.
Alongside this, WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that will allow group administrators to directly chat with the group participants instead of navigating to the group info page. This new feature will further improve the overall user experience on the platform and make it easier for users to connect and communicate with each other.
